Tesco in global loyalty promise

Tesco is to launch loyalty schemes in all of its markets over the next few years.

Clubcard director Crawford Davidson said that the venture will enable the retailer to gather useful data on customers globally.

The grocer was one of the first to launch a UK loyalty scheme - Clubcard, in 1995.

Davidson said: 'We have just started launching Clubcard abroad (Korea and Ireland) and it's early days, but, in time, we will launch a loyalty proposition in every market.'

Tesco has stores in 10 markets, including Hungary, the Czech Republic and Thailand.
