Tesco has extended Entertainment UK's (EUK) contract to supply all of Tesco’s UK stores with books. The existing contract, due to expire at the end of February, has been extended by a further 12 months.

EUK managing director Lloyd Wigglesworth said the agreement represents a further vote of confidence in its service.

He said: “We continue to see books as an increasingly important market for us and a natural extension of our traditional business. We look forward to continuing to work with Tesco to build on the mutual success that we have enjoyed together over recent years.”

Last month, the Competition Commission ruled in favour of EUK’s acquisition of the Bertram Group. I
