Tesco’s electricals chief is the latest senior executive to head for the exit, following a string of departures this month.

Electricals director Terry Greenwood will leave at the end of December after his contract finishes.

This month, commercial finance director Keith Down, central Europe clothing buying director Julia Reynolds and director of development Dido Harding will leave the retailer. Down is heading to JD Wetherspoon, Reynolds to Figleaves and Harding to Sainsbury’s.

Separately, Tesco will launch women’s clothing online next week with 125 lines, as revealed by Retail Week (September 28). Tesco UK clothing chief executive Terry Green said: “We want to extend our offer to include men’s and kids’ at the earliest opportunity.” He added that Tesco had “no plans” to introduce standalone clothing stores similar to Asda’s George outlets.
