The Retail Week Hackathon kicks off today.

Hackathon judges Tesco Labs head of open innovation Nick Lansley and John Lewis head of IT strategy, architecture and business process unit Julian Burnett believe hackathons are essential for retailers in the fast moving market.

The Retail Week Hackathon, taking place at the Emirates Stadium over 24 hours, is challenging the teams with ‘Creating the Ultimate Customer Experience’.

The ten shortlisted teams, made up of a mix of start-ups and retailers, will battle it out and the winner will be crowned on stage at the Retail Week Technology & Ecommerce Summit on Thursday.
