Head of multichannel, Halfords

Previously a buyer at Dixons Retail, Halfords’ multichannel man Corbin has worked for the retailer since 2006, first as a category manager before moving across to head up the company’s multichannel development in 2009.

Halfords online and multichannel offer has quickly developed in the past couple of years. After the success of reserve and collect, the retailer was also the first to offer buy online to collect in store, for customers who were more sure of the purchase they wanted to make.

This service allows Halfords to offer an extended range of products online, which it would not be economical for stores to keep in stock.

In fact, the work of Corbin and the team delivering the multichannel proposition at Halfords will be crucial as the retailer seeks to cut selling space in its store portfolio due to the acceleration of web sales. It wants to downsize or relocate to smaller premises in certain locations, which will further limit the ranges it carries.

The retailer recorded a 60% uplift in multichannel sales in its latest half-year results.
