Superstore look to be revamped by PowerHouse

Electricals retailer PowerHouse is to test a superstore redesign in Dumfries, which may then be rolled out across the chain's biggest outlets.

The 650 sq m store will open on March 25 and include a 10 sq m children's play area with toys and TV, as well as a fast-track cash desk and a dedicated accessories area.

The design will be tested for two months before variations are introduced to the 235-strong chain's other 164 superstores and replicated in new outlets.

Last week, PowerHouse revealed it was maximising efficiency by reducing warehouse numbers from three to two and refocusing its home delivery operation for the south at Hemel Hempstead.
