Department store Harvey Nichols has opened its first Beauty Bazaar on the site of the former Habitat in Liverpool.

Opening today, the store is 22,000 sq ft and spread across three floors.

Beauty Bazaar is the retailer’s first foray into a permanent standalone shop that is not a full-line store.

Daniela Rinaldi, director of concessions and beauty, said the reason Liverpool was chosen was because“Liverpool girls spend four times the national average on beauty and are second only to London in terms of spend”.

The store has been designed by Four IV and is modelled, in part, on the Beauty Bazaar that was unveiled in Hong Kong in 2010. Among its features are treatment rooms, a “WOW” bar, and a number of brands not previously seen in Liverpool.

At the same time, and on the same street in the Liverpool One development, Harvey Nichols has opened a pop-up food hall, following on its success with the format in the city last year. It will trade until the New Year.
