Electricals group DSGi is testing a combined Currys and PC World store at Bluewater following the success of big two-in-one shops.

Combined stores, along with megastores, have delivered big uplifts in profitability and the retailer is keen to see whether a similar approach will work in smaller shops in malls or on the high street, a spokesman said.

He would not comment on when a decision would be made about a roll-out, but said pilot formats are typically traded through the peak period to see how they perform. DSGi will post full-year results next week.
