Property regeneration specialist St Modwen has been given the green light to proceed with retail-led extension works to the Norton Park District Centre in Stoke-on-Trent.

Stoke City Council has granted permission to develop a six-unit retail terrace in the centre.

The developer is aiming to be on site by the end of the year and have new stores trading by next summer.

The units will range from 1,000 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft (90 sq m to 370 sq m) and join the existing Aldi store in the scheme.

St Modwen development manager Euan Lindsay said: “These proposed new units form an essential element of the development, as they will provide facilities for a range of retail and food outlets.

“Securing this latest planning permission for the retail units has been a long time in the making and we are very pleased that it has finally been granted.”

The landlord is being represented jointly by Ramsdens and Louis Taylor.
