Space NK chief executive Judith Pilkington has stepped down from the luxury beauty retailer.

In a statement, Space NK said Pilkington had “achieved what she set out to do when she joined five years ago”.

It is not known if Pilkington has another job to go to. A spokeswoman for Space NK said she has not yet been replaced but the retailer will appoint another chief executive “within the next few weeks”.

The statement added: “With a strong team and sound infrastructure in place, Judith feels this to be an appropriate moment to hand over her work for Space NK.”

Space NK commercial director Alison Middleton also left the business in November, to focus on her consultancy business AM Retail Consultants.

Space NK launched in 1996 and stocks upmarket beauty and perfume brands.
