Progress Software has replaced Alphameric as systems supplier for William Smith Shoes, which left the incumbent to base its EPoS system on Progress's Business Edge platform. William Smith, which is Scotland's biggest independent shoe retailer, switched suppliers as part of its Chip and PIN project.
