SoftWide hopes for 40 UK stores

Fledgling computer software retailer SoftWide plans to open 40 stores in the UK this year.

Each new shop will stock approximately 2,000 games and business titles for the PC market. Further expansion is on the agenda for next year, but planned store numbers have not yet been decided.

SoftWide was established in July last year, when the first store opened on London's King's Road. It now has three shops in the London area.

SoftWide is owned by Tribeka, which had previously distributed software under the SoftWide brand name.
