Giant snowmen will be suspended above the 12 streets of London’s Carnaby area from Thursday November 13, when its Christmas lights are switched on.

The snowmen will kick-start the famous shopping area’s Christmas activity.

“The inspiration for this year’s decorations came from the childhood fantasy of a white Christmas and the delight in creating snowmen from the first fall of snow,” said Paul Dart, creative director at James Glancy Designs.

Carnaby will also host its traditional Christmas shopping evening in association with Grazia magazine again this year, on November 27. From 5pm to 9pm more than 100 participating shops and restaurants – including American Apparel, Miss Sixty and All Saints – will offer 20 per cent discounts.
