Selfridges hires John Brown for new store mag

Selfridges has drafted in a new publisher to relaunch its magazine this autumn.

John Brown Citrus replaces Tyler Brule's Wink, which was responsible for the last launch in March 2001.

John Brown Citrus chief executive Andrew Hirsch said the publication would be unconventional. 'It will be beyond your wildest imaginings,' he said.

The first edition will appear in September, with a minimum circulation of 300,000. It will be followed by at least two issues a year.

John Brown Citrus, which is also launching a magazine for popular US department store Bloomingdale's this autumn, has appointed staff formerly at Dazed & Confused and Arena to work on the Selfridges magazine project.
