The cosmetics retailer Models Own has opened its first UK flagship outside of London in Leeds Trinity shopping centre.

The beauty retailer, which opened its first physical store in Westfield Stratford City in October last year, opened its Leeds store this month.

All of the UK retailer’s 650 product lines are available in the 1,667 sq ft outlet in Trinity Leeds.

The store features a central section called a ‘play area’ where shoppers can test different products and watch live make-up tutorials from the retailer’s trained in-store make-up artists.

Models Own was previously a nail-varnish specialist, but its latest store offers a full cosmetics range including eye, skincare and lip products.

The retailer was acquired by Saudi-based retail conglomerate Fawaz Alhokair & Co in 2014 and is undergoing aggressive bricks-and-mortar expansion.

Trinity Leeds marketing manager Dan Wharton said: “To be chosen as the first stand-alone store outside London is a real coup for the city.

“Models Own is a fantastic destination brand for those looking for cosmetics and we’re delighted we’ll be adding a huge splash of colour to our retail line-up.”
