As Tesco presses ahead with the £3.7bn acquisition of Booker, the food wholesaler’s full-year results this morning revealed what the grocer is paying for.

Booker hailed a 15% spike in pre-tax profit to £174m in the 52 weeks to March 24, but there were plenty more impressive figures in its results statement.
