Deliveroo has partnered with alcoholic drink retailers including Majestic Wine to expand the range of product that it can deliver to households.

Deliveroo customers can now order drinks from eight Majestic Wine stores across London to be delivered in around 20 minutes.

The on-demand food and drink delivery service has also joined up with BrewDog, with its drinks now available for delivery from 20 BrewDog locations nationally.

Deliveroo will also continue to work with independent wine retailers, including Lea and Sandeman, Honest Brew, We Brought Beer, Mother Kelly’s and Vagabond Wines, following a successful trial earlier this year.

Deliveroo UK & IE managing director Dan Warne said: “Majestic Wine and BrewDog are perfect launch partners for us offering great pairings for meals ordered on Deliveroo.”

The service will work in the same way as Deliveroo’s food delivery; alcohol retailers will be provided with a tablet through which orders can be processed. Nearby riders will collect the order from staff and deliver it to customers.

We Brought Beer owner and managing director James Hickson said: “Deliveroo offers us a really simple way to deliver amazing beers to our local neighbourhood.

”Before using Deliveroo, we were unable to offer a delivery service – like many independent outfits we didn’t have the resources or manpower to make it happen.”

Majestic Wine boss Rowan Gormley told Retail Week last month that Brexit would push up the price of wine as the cost of imported goods will inevitably rise.
