Great expectations for legal appointee as she joins the furniture retailer's board
ScS Upholstery has appointed ex-Asda legal eagle Denise Jagger as a non-executive director to the board with immediate effect. Jagger left Asda, where she was general counsel for the retailer, last year after eleven years. She joined international law firm Eversheds in a managerial role, tasked with improving client relationships and internal employment practices.

Jagger also holds non-executive directorships at Scarborough Building Society, Water Fulford, York Museum Trust and Solicitors Pro Bono Group.

ScS chairman Mike Browne said: 'We believe [Jagger's] legal expertise and extensive retail experience will be of great benefit to the board in driving the continued growth of ScS.'

At the same time, ScS announced the retirement of non-executive directors Tony McCann and Walter Goldsmith.
