Retail Solutions - Tesco ready for festive footfall with mobile tills

Tesco has rolled out 125 mobile checkouts to cope with extra footfall over the Christmas period.

The tills were originally brought in to cover the extra footfall over the Halloween and Bonfire Night festivities, and will now be used to cope with the rise in sales over Christmas.

The till points, which have been provided by EPoS specialist Cashbases, were designed and built specifically for Tesco. The mobile checkouts incorporate wireless data links and carry their own power supply. This helps to reduce queue times and increase sales at the point of promotion.
