Retail Property - Ulla Popken will make UK debut at Bluewater

German fashion retailer Ulla Popken is to open its first store in the UK at Bluewater. The retailer has taken a 2,915 sq ft (270 sq m) unit in the Upper Mall in the Rose Gallery.

Ulla Popken managing director Martina Monaghan said: 'The UK has been a target market for us for some time, and Bluewater offered the perfect platform for a launch.'

At the same time, Kew, a new womenswear label from the team behind Jigsaw, has taken 1,755 sq ft (165 sq m) in the Upper Mall of the Guild Hall.

Lacoste is to relocate within Bluewater, signing a new lease on a bigger, 1,925 sq ft (180 sq m) unit in the Upper Mall of the Rose Gallery.

Meanwhile, Point A, a new-concept luggage and travel goods store from Samsonite, will take a 1,485 sq ft (140 sq m) unit on Upper Mall of the Rose Gallery.

Recent rentals at Bluewater have exceeded£390 for Zone A, with a number of UK and international retailers still waiting for units to become available in the centre.
