Retail Property - Tesco signs up as first taker on Kings Cross site

P&O Developments has landed Tesco as its first retail occupier at Regent Quarter, its 630,000 sq ft (58,525 sq m) mixed-used urban regeneration scheme under construction next door to London's Kings Cross station.

Tesco has agreed to take a 15-year lease on a 15,000 sq ft (1,400 sq m) unit in the development's Focus Point building on Caledonian Road.

Fitting-out work will begin before the end of the year. Overall, 35,000 sq ft (3,250 sq m) of retail space is being created at Regent Quarter, in units from 375 sq ft (35 sq m) upwards.

DE&J Levy advised P&O Developments on the letting. Tesco was advised by Douglas Stevens and Co.
