Retail Property - Cleary to head development at Land Securities

Land Securities has put Peter Cleary in overall charge of its retail development programme, the company has announced.

Principal responsibility for the delivery of Alliance projects in Birmingham - where the Bullring opens later this year - and Bristol - where a similar scheme is proposed - will lie with Bob De Barr, now director of development partnerships.

Development director Mike McGuinness will be responsible for the delivery of 'heritage developments' in sensitive urban locations. These include shopping developments such as Princesshay in Exeter, Whitefriars in Canterbury and Coppergate in York.

The restructuring is aimed at bringing retail development in line with the structure Land Securities put in place to manage its retail portfolio, under head of retail portfolio management Richard Akers.
