International beauty and cosmetics group L'Oreal has chosen Bluewater to host the first standalone store for its Biotherm skincare, cosmetics and suncare brand.
The company has taken a 1,730 sq ft (160 sq m) site in the centre's Guild Hall mall.
According to Bluewater general manager David Robinson, health and beauty sales have outperformed other sectors at Bluewater in the past 12 months, with 15 per cent year-on-year growth. He said prime rents at Bluewater had now broken the£400 Zone A barrier, with some recent deals showing£410 Zone A.
Biotherm general manager Joelle Saadia said: 'Opening a boutique in the UK is an important part of the brand strategy; it allows true expression of a brand and a possibility to include special features such as a men's-only corner. It also allows for specialised in-store services, such as personal consultations and makeovers.'
