Retail Property - All space taken a year in advance at Jubilee Place

All of the new shopping mall space under construction at Canary Wharf's Jubilee Place is now spoken for almost a year ahead of completion.

Since Marks & Spencer signed up as anchor tenant last month, 11 new lettings have been agreed in the 8,250 sq m Jubilee Place underground mall.

New retailers include Books etc, which has taken 465 sq m to supplement its existing Canary Wharf store in Cabot Place.

Upmarket fashion retailer Reiss has taken two stores of 160 sq m and 115 sq m for its men's and women's formats, while Karen Millen will trade from 220 sq m. Noodle bar Wagamama has taken a 475 sq m unit.

Jubilee Place is being built to the south of the existing Canary Wharf estate, beneath five new office towers, which will house the headquarters of Barclays Bank and lawyers Clifford Chance among others.

When Jubilee Place opens, Canary Wharf will have a total of 58,000 sq m of retail space in more than 200 stores.

Markham Vaughan Gillingham and Lunson Mitchenall are the retail letting agents.
