Chief executive, Ocado

Tim Steiner heads one of the most talked about retailers of the past year. Ocado has won the hearts and minds of middle-class shoppers in the southeast with its range of Waitrose products, and renowned customer service.

However, in the City opinions are divided over whether Ocado has done enough to warrant a £1bn IPO price tag. Some argue that Ocado should be valued differently, with its growth potential seen internationally, as well as the licensing of the technology in its warehouse. Others believe its business model is flawed and point out the business has never made a pre-tax profit.

Steiner was waiting until after the election before he gives the go ahead for a float but the market is still relatively unstable.

However, the company appears committed to the plans.
