Luxury lifestyle retailer Michael Kors will open its first shop in Cardiff after taking on part of H&M’s store in St. David’s Dewi Saint shopping centre.

Michael Kors has agreed a lease on a 3,190 sq ft store at the southern end of The Hayes, part of a larger unit occupied by H&M.

As previously reported, the fashion retailer is relocating to a bigger store within the centre.

Michael Kors’ move into Cardiff came months after it reported its slowest quarterly growth in the US since it listed in 2011.

The retailer reported a 5.8% fall in like-for-like store sales and slow revenue growth in its fourth-quarter ending March 28.

Despite that disappointing fourth-quarter performance, Michael Kors’ full-year profits jumped 31.3% to $2.6bn (£1.7bn).
