Property News - Weavers Wharf lets snapped up

Centros Miller's£60 million regeneration scheme in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, is now more than 90 per cent let, following a deal with Marks & Spencer for a 27,000 sq ft (2,505 sq m) store that includes a 6,000 sq ft (560 sq m) mezzanine.

Marks & Spencer will join Next, JJB Sports, TK Maxx, Tesco, Brantano, De Bradelei Mills, Pizza Hut, McDonald's, Julian Graves, West Midlands Co-op and Stylo Barratt on the 300,000 sq ft (27,870 sq m) Weavers Wharf scheme, which will be trading in time for Christmas 2003.

Centros Miller development manager David Lewis said: 'We are delighted to secure another anchor tenant of this calibre. Kidderminster has, in the past, underperformed as a retail centre, but Weavers Wharf will breathe new life into the town and strengthen its regional importance.'

The scheme is fully funded by Paul Sykes' Highstone Estates. GVA Grimley and Chase & Partners represented Centros Miller, while Gilbert Bath acted for Marks & Spencer.
