Property News - Pillar Property's Fulham scheme opens 90% let

Pillar Property's 18,580 sq m retail and leisure development at Fulham in southwest London opened last week with more than 90 per cent of the floorspace let.

The development, beside Fulham Broadway underground station, includes a 2,000 sq m Sainsbury's Central foodstore and an 835 sq m Virgin Megastore, as well as new stores for Books etc, Boots, Orange, Starbucks, Clinton Cards and Phones 4U.

The scheme's leisure element is anchored by a nine-screen Warner Village cinema, a David Lloyd health and fitness club, and a range of new bars and restaurants, including Pizza Express, Yo! Sushi, Nandos and a JD Wetherspoon Lloyds No 1 bar.

Nick Ware, director of specialist retail development consultancy Union Land & Property, said: 'An estimated 8 million users of Fulham Broadway station each year should boost the retailers' trading performance.

'The scheme is already acting as a catalyst leading to further regeneration immediately to the east and west, and over time this should further establish the Fulham Broadway area as a major retail centre.'
