Property News - Nuvo cafes to open in London

Nuvo, a fast-casual dining concept, is planning to launch five outlets in the London area for its new cafe and restaurant formats.

The company, founded by accountants-turned-restaurateurs Barry Hampson and Stephen Stroud, has retained agents Stephen Kane & Co to acquire an initial five key sites in high streets or shopping centres in the London area.

The Nuvo cafe format, which incorporates table service in the evening, will occupy units of more than 1,000 sq ft (93 sq m). Smaller Nuvo satellite units will offer a take-away and delivery service.

The company's core offer will be flatbread sandwiches, but the Nuvo menu will also feature stone-baked pizzas, pasta, salads and soups.

Stephen Kane & Company senior partner Stephen Kane said: 'Nuvo offers something new and different in a market that is simultaneously moving away from fine dining at one end and fast food at the other. Fast-casual dining is already a phenomenon in the US, with the UK beginning to follow suit.'
