Lend Lease has opened its fourth major shopping centre in Europe, with the completion of the TresAguas Shopping Centre in Madrid.
TresAguas is the first integrated retail and leisure destination of its type in Spain.
The 65,000 sq m three-storey centre, which was designed by BDP and Peterhansrea Plus Roman, features 143 retail units, a leisure and restaurant plaza, a health club and 3,300 parking spaces.
On opening day, the centre was 92 per cent let, with the remaining units under contract. Retailers include El Corte Ingles' Supercor format, Zara, Benetton, C&A and Quiksilver.
The centre is set to dominate the catchment area of southwest Madrid, which has more than 2.7 million residents.
Senior development manager Fraser Denton said: 'TresAguas will redefine the shopping experience in Spain, just as Bluewater did in the UK.'
