Property news - Legends signs for Caxtongate in Birmingham

Legends has become the latest retailer to sign for Land Securities' Caxtongate retail development in Birmingham. The boardwear retailer has taken 6,500 sq m to join existing tenants that include Jane Norman, H&M, Jigsaw, Muji, Hobbs and Ted Baker.

At the same time, Land Securities has appointed Carter Wassell Murdoch to advise on its retail strategy for the existing 19,000 sq m of mixed-use space at Caxtongate, developed in two phases between 1997 and 2000.

CWM's first priority will be to find a replacement for Tower Records, which is vacating a prime Corporation Street corner site.

The third and final phase of Caxtongate, with 2,220 sq m of additional retail space, is due for completion in autumn next year.
