Property News - Bullring scores with mini-pitches

The Birmingham Alliance has signed a series of health and beauty retailers to add to its growing tenant line-up at the Bullring.

Molton Brown is to launch its first standalone store in Birmingham with a 45 sq m unit on Bullring's Street 7, close to Selfridges' new department store.

Boots The Chemists will be opening its second-largest full range store in the city, trading from 975 sq m on Bullring's middle level, near to Debenhams. The store will have its own entrance on Smallbrook Queensway, overlooking New Street Station.

Body Shop is to open a 130 sq m unit and Perfume Shop a 80 sq m unit on the scheme's middle level.

And on the lower level, Dr & Herbs, the Chinese herbal medicine retailer, has signed up for a 60 sq m unit - its first outlet in Birmingham.

Hammerson director of retail leasing Sheila King said: 'These signings prove that our strategy in creating mini-pitches for retailer categories on all three trading levels is what retailers are looking for.'

The joint letting agents for the Bullring are Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker, Jones Lang LaSalle and Lunson Mitchenall.
