Primark, the value fashion giant, is poised to open six new UK stores before Christmas.

The Associated British Foods-owned retailer will open in Harrogate, Bournemouth, Worcester, Perth in Scotland and Cwmbran in Wales in addition to a relocated store in Yeovil, according to The Independent.

Four of the stores will open at former Bhs stores that Primark bought from the Arcadia-owned retailer earlier this year.

Primark returned to the top spot as the UK’s largest clothing retailer by volume over the summer, ahead of Asda and Marks & Spencer.

In the 12 weeks to August 15, Primark grew its market share by volume to 10.9%, coming in ahead of George at Asda at 10.8%, followed by Marks & Spencer at 10.2%, according to data from Kantar Worldpanel Fashion and leaked to newspapers.
