Ex-Bonmarché MD to become trading director
David Pidgeon, the former managing director of troubled clothing chain Bonmarché, is to join men's fashion retailer Moss Bros as trading director for the company's mainstream division.

He will oversee the continued expansion of the Moss stores and the new store format roll-out programme. The group's mainstream division comprises of the Moss, Moss Bros Hire and the factory outlets.

Pidgeon left Peacocks-owned Bonmarché at the beginning of this year, just days before completion of the£404 million deal to take the group private. The mature women's fashion chain increased market share during his tenure, but failed to achieve a consistent profit growth. He has previously held posts at Matalan, Woolworths and Sears.

Moss Bros chief executive Philip Mountford said: 'This appointment will enable the company to focus on its strategy of substantial growth over the next three to five years. David will be paramount to the delivery of profitable results within what remains a challenging retail environment.'
