Dame Kendrick addresses issues with both recruitment and retention of talent in the food and drinks sector as part of the Retail Trust’s Retail Giants series in association with Newton.
Kendrick, who spent 40 years working at the world’s largest food and drink company, highlights mental wellbeing as a key recruitment condition for candidates when joining companies, and questions what employers can do to help and support staff.
“It’s obvious that companies now need to put people front and centre,” she adds.
Brook-Carter quizzes her about whether there is a glass ceiling, if people are born leaders and how firms can improve productivity, as well as delving into how Kendrick carved out her own career path.
From 1832 onwards, the Retail Trust has been caring for and protecting the lives of people working in retail.
