Staples finance director Sarah Guest is set to leave the office supplies retailer after four years in the role.

Guest’s departure follows two high level exits at the retailer after operations director Ian Tattersall left the business in June, ending a 14-year career, and UK managing director Amee Chande who departed in March.

Chande was replaced by Staples Portugal boss Carlos Maia, who is now the Staples UK and Portugal vice president.

Staples confirmed that Guest is set to leave “after accepting a new role” but declined to comment on her replacement.

Staples closed 23 stores at the beginning of the year to focus on a strategy based around multichannel growth.

This year it has ramped up its advertising, agreeing a television sponsorship deal with Channel 4, while it aimed to take market share from the supermarkets across the Back to School season last month.
