Homewares retailer Robert Dyas has promoted operations director Bea Pearson to chief operating officer.

Pearson took up the role at the beginning of December. She has worked her way up at the retailer after starting as a part-time sales assistant 11 years ago.

She succeeds Phil Green who has left the business after been with the ironmonger for over five years. Green is setting up his own consultancy.

The management change follows the exit of chief executive Graham Coles in November 2012 and the departure of director of finance Matthew Emerson in April this year.

Ryman and Boux Avenue owner Theo Paphitis acquired Robert Dyas in July last year.

The retailer’s operating profit leaped from £1.1m to £4.9m in the year to March 30.
