Jack Wills’ global head of e-commerce Graham Morrell is to depart after less than a year in the role, as the preppy fashion retailer drafts in a global digital director.

Morrell will be exiting the business in the coming months. He left Arcadia as the group’s ecommerce boss in October 2012 to join Jack Wills.

Jack Wills has appointed Jan Mehmet to head up the global online operations at the retailer in a newly created role, Retail Week can reveal.

Mehmet, the former ecommerce director at fitness footwear firm Fitflop, started at the retailer this month. He has also previously held the position of director of ecommerce at fashion retailer Urban Outfitters Europe.

Jack Wills is focusing on the international growth of its brand after overhauling its top management team. Chief operating officer Wendy Becker, who joined the retailer last year, made a raft of appointments, including new finance, retail, international, marketing, digital and merchandising directors.

Jack Wills made a £9.7m pre-tax loss in the year to February 3, 2013 from a £3.3m pre-tax profit the year before after it investing in new software to position it for international expansion.

Morrell’s reason for leaving is unknown.
