Expansion will create 1,000 jobs
Peacock Group plans to open 63 stores before the end of March, creating up to 1,000 jobs as part of a£15 million investment programme.

The value-driven fashion group will open 30 Peacocks stores, 30 Fragrance Shops and three Bonmarché outlets, taking the total number of shops in each chain to more than 455, 120 and 363 respectively.

The investment programme is in addition to a recently announced£2.5 million store revamp strategy. Peacocks was taken private in a management buy-out in February.

Four Peacocks stores have already opened since the beginning of the financial year, two of which are in former Littlewoods stores. A further six will open before the end of June.

'We know what our customers want and each of our brands is very focused on its core target markets. That's why we're experiencing this levels of rapid growth,' said Peacock Group chief executive Richard Kirk.
