Tesco has launched a social networking site aimed at people taking part in or supporting Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.

The site - tescosupportsraceforlife.co.uk - gives participants and supporters the chance to discuss their experiences and help pass on tips to beginners.

The site will also provide advice on health and nutrition, plus guest blogs from Race for Life ambassadors like Paula Radcliffe. The site will also allow participants to share their reasons for taking part with other supporters through the virtual message boards and image galleries.

A Tesco spokesman said: “Raising sponsorship and training for these events takes up lots of time and energy – and the women who do it need the support of their partners, friends and families.

“Our new Supporters’ Network means participants or supporters can all now go online to get help and advice from people in a similar situation – or seek expert tips from the likes of marathon star Paula Radcliffe.”
