The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has delayed its decision on whether to refer Amazon’s acquisition of rival Book Depository to the Competition Commission.

The OFT was expected to make its decision tomorrow (September 2) but an OFT spokesman told The Bookseller that a decision was now “to be confirmed”.

He declined to say why the decision had been pushed back.

The etail giant revealed in July that it had reached an agreement with The Book Depository to acquire the retailer.
