Ocado starts ad drive ahead of Midlands push

Online grocer Ocado is to push into the Midlands by Christmas after it opens a distribution hub at Rugby.

The John Lewis-backed service offers Waitrose products, and at present is available to 3.4 million households in Greater London and its environs.

Ocado has also embarked on its biggest ad campaign to date. The multi-million pound push uses radio, press and posters as well as direct mail.

Ocado joint managing director Nigel Robertson said: 'We are expanding our delivery service areas at a rapid pace and this marketing campaign will attract customers in new and existing locations.'
