New Look has suffered another senior departure after group marketing director Joe Irons jumped ship to join Monsoon Accessorize.

It is understood that Irons, who left the value fashion chain this week, will fill the ecommerce and multichannel director role vacated by Kristine Kirby, who quit Monsoon Accessorize in June.

Irons’ exit is the latest in a line of departures from troubled New Look since founder Tom Singh was drafted back into the business in March, following the ousting of chief executive Carl McPhail.

Chief marketing offer Nick Cross, to whom Irons reported, left in May, after less than six months. Cross had previously worked with McPhail at Selfridges. Franchise director Alex Cara left in June.

On his return, Singh instigated a senior management shake-up, reversing the appointment of former Primark buying director Julian Kilmartin – who is now advising Blacks Leisure – and re-hiring group buying director Roger Wightman, ousted by McPhail.

He also wooed back Barbara Horspool, the driving force behind the New Look’s fashion credentials, who was poised to move to rival Oasis. He gave her an elevated group design director role.
