Moss Bros is poised to hire a chairman by the end of the month. Sources said two candidates have been shortlisted for the role.

The menswear retailer has been left without a chairman since Keith Hamill stepped down a month ago. Former Littlewoods chief Barry Gibson, who was Moss Bros’ preferred successor, did not join the company.

Moss Bros has contended with months of instability including a failed£40 million takeover bid by its largest shareholder Baugur and in-fighting among shareholders.

Meanwhile, Moss Bros has launched a limited edition range of dresswear called Moss Covent Garden (pictured). It draws inspiration from Moss’s heritage and brings a modern twist to the tuxedo.
