Bentley to head UK fashion arm
Womenswear chain Morgan UK has appointed Simon Bentley as its chief executive. He is already a non-executive director and is also deputy chairman at law firm Mishcon de Reya.

Bentley has had a distinguished career in fashion retailing. He was chairman and chief executive of Blacks Leisure until 2002, when the retailer sold its First Sport chain to JJB Sports. Five years ago, he suffered a serious skiing accident that cost him his sight in one eye.

Owner and chairman Barry Prince, who has been acting chief executive, will continue on the board. It is understood that he will focus on the retailer's ranging strategy. Prince said: 'The board is very pleased to have somebody of Simon's knowledge and retail experience to lead the company into the next phase of its development.'

Morgan UK owns the British distribution rights to the French brand. It has 20 stores, more than 40 concessions and a wholesale business.
