This is the first fully fledged example of the eco-store format that M&S hopes will help it achieve its Plan A objectives by 2012.

The store is located in the middle of Bournemouth and from the outside there is little that makes this 1930s building look like it is at the cutting-edge of retail eco-thinking. The same is true inside but energy saving features and recycled materials are everywhere. This is not about marketing, this is how green stores may develop in the future.
