M&S execs lead Christmas rush back to the floor

Marks & Spencer board members were among the first at the retailer to sign up to go back to the floor this Christmas.

As M&S prepares its recruitment drive among the 3,600 head office staff, a spokeswoman confirmed that chief executive Roger Holmes and other board members would roll up their sleeves between December 19 and 24. The spokeswoman said preparations are at an early stage, but Holmes would most likely be heading for Camberley - the shop closest to his home.

Other staff will be recruited in the next two weeks. M&S hopes to equal or exceed last year's 1,700 participants.
