Troubled cookware retailer ProCook has been bought out of administration by its management and a consortium of shareholders for an undisclosed sum.

All 260 jobs will be preserved, as well as its 39 stores. The deal went through last Friday under the auspices of acquisition vehicle Ensco 688.

The Cheltenham retailer went into administration earlier this month. Joff Pope, the KPMG administrator handling the case, said: “We are pleased to report that the business and assets of ProCook in administration were sold to Ensco 688.”

ProCook began as The Professional Cookware Company, a small family business, in 1993. It started out selling pans at exhibitions and through magazines.

In recent weeks, ScS Upholstery also fell into administration, but was later bought by Sun European Partners. Last month, Icelandic-owned furniture chain Ilva Furniture collapsed after failing to conquer the UK market.
