LK Bennett has been put up for sale again by its founder Linda Bennett.

The womenswear chain is thought to be on the market for about£150 million. It was originally put up for sale in 2004, but the sale collapsed when a price could not be agreed.

Hobbs, owned by private equity firm 3i, has been mooted as a possible buyer after making a bid for its rival the first time it came onto the market. Private equity firms Hawkpoint and Change Capital and serial investor Baugur have also been touted as potential bidders.

Investment bank NM Rothschild has been appointed to lead the sale.
