Littlewoods sets deadline to decide on new launches

Littlewoods is to make a decision by February on the launch of further catalogues next year.

According to head of marketing and new business development Dara O'Malley, the home shopping and high street retailer is assessing further opportunities for niche catalogues, including one for consumers aged over 50.

Speaking at the recent ECMOD home shopping conference, O'Malley said: 'We will be producing new catalogues aimed at different customer groups.'

Questioned last week, he said: 'We will decide in January or February if and when to go ahead with any further catalogues next year.'

The Collection, for fashion-conscious 40- to 50-year-old women, was launched in May.

Littlewoods was recently acquired by the billionaire Barclay brothers.
